Community Infrastructure Project (CIP)

This project was specifically designed to enhance the physical infrastructure of small towns and cities in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan. It commenced in 2000 and concluded in 2002, with funding provided by the Provincial government.
Lok Sudhar, as a community representative organization, implemented this project in collaboration with the provincial, district, and tehsil municipal administrations. The CIP project had its staff to facilitate the implementing organizations. This project comprised two components: the first
aimed to improve physical infrastructure, while the second focused on empowering local communities in decision-making and collective action.
A crucial aspect was to build the capacity of both local communities and municipal administrations to collaborate effectively by involving the communities. This approach represented a unique model of community participation and mutual learning. Lok Sudhar successfully completed this project within the designated timeline.
