The 2005 earthquake profoundly impacted District Mansehra, resulting in significant casualties, widespread infrastructure damage,displacement of residents, disruption of education and healthcare services, and a notable economic setback. In response to the disaster, Lok Sudhar Association, a local humanitarian organization, played a crucial role in providing relief and aid
to the affected population. The organization engaged in various activities such as distributing food, clean water, and essential supplies, setting up temporary shelters, facilitating medical camps, and offering psychosocial support to address the psychological trauma caused by the earthquake. Along with this, Lok Sudhar Association had contributed to the settlement of District Largest Earthquake Affectees Camp in Havelian and initiated educational and recreational activities for the children and families. Lok Sudhar Association’s dedicated efforts contributed to alleviating the suffering
of the affected communities and aiding in the district’s recovery and reconstruction process.

- Distributed 2000 food items in affectees camps at different localities
- Around 1200 community members from the affectees, were trained for Psychosocial
support mechanism and indigenous mitigation strategies. - Football, Cricket, and Valley ball tournaments were organized in the camp for recovering
from trauma. - 2000 children were provided education facilities, books/uniforms, and footwear.
- Exposure visits were arranged for children suffering from traumatic conditions.
